Aruba Still Favorite Caribbean Spot For US Travelers
Despite the tough competition in the Caribbean region, Aruba still remains a top destination spot for travellers, especially from the United States.
According to a recent travel market analysis from Allianz Global Assistance, European cities have fallen of the charts and the Caribbean will dominate this year’s list of the 10 most popular international summer destinations.
The list of most popular summer destination is for planned trips from May 24 throughout September 3, 2019.
Aruba dominates the list at number two spot following Mexico (Cancun).

On the list for most popular summer destinations are also: Nassau, Higuey in the Dominican Republic, Montego Bay, Jamaica, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, San Juan, Puerto Rico and Grand Cayman.

Brand New Boutique Hotel in Oranjestad
A new small boutique hotel opened its doors in Oranjestad.
It’s called “Monastery Estates”.
The hotel is located in a renovated building that was first constructed in the late 1930’s. Most of the elements of the old building was incorporated with new modern designs.

Monastery suites has a nice pool in the front of the hotel, luxurious suites, apartments and studios. A gift Shop, library and a restaurant & lounge called “The Chapel”.
Rooms prices start at $75.00 per night – which is great if you’re looking for affordable places to stay in Aruba.
Monastery estates is LGBTQ friendly.
New Harbor For Cruise Ship & Cargo
Somewhere in the future, the district of San Nicolas will get its own cruise port. This was announced by the minister of transport later this week.
The new harbor will be called “San Nicolas Ports Authority” and will be managed separately from the Aruba Ports Authority in Oranjestad.

It’s going to function as the main harbor for the fast ferry service between Curacao and Bonaire. And it will be a harbor for cruise and cargo ships.
There’s no deadline mentioned yet for completion of the project.
Mother’s Day in Aruba
Mother’s day is next week Sunday (May 12, 2019).
It’s an international holiday to honor the mother of the family.
Not only the mom, but any type of motherhood, maternal bonds and influence from mothers in the society.
Everyone has their own way of celebrating Mother’s day.
From sending a thank you greeting card, to buying expensive gifts.
How do you spend Mother’s day in Aruba?
Here’s some suggestions to treat your mother during her day.
- Gift her a ticket to Aruba
- Brunch at a restaurant
- Take her out tonight for family dinner
- Treat her to a spa for a massage
- Shop around downtown area for a gift
Assuming you’re on the island during mother’s day – enjoy the various restaurant specials prices.

Soul Beach Music Festival
The biggest soul music festival is right around the corner as Memorial day weekend approaches.
Soul Beach Music Festival takes place on May 22 – 28, 2019.

The artist line up is as followed (artist line up subject to change):
- May 24 – Comedy Night by Deon Cole & Aida Rodriguez
- May 25 – Music Concert – Charlie Wilson, H.E.R.
- May 26 – John Legend & Ella Mai
Besides the music concerts, there’s also going to be two beach parties (Moomba & Baby beach). And 5 nightclub parties.
Pack your swimsuit and dress to impress outfits.
Aruba Island Fest
Excitement is going through the roof as San Nicolas prepares for the new street festival that is promised to take the city over.
The new event is named “Aruba Island Fest” and it is the predecessor of Carubbian nights.
Aruba Island Fest promises a bigger and better ambience than Carubian.
The first island fest will be on May 29, 2019.
A date selected because of the Soul Beach Music Festival.
Aruba’s first island fest is dedicated to Soul Beach Music Festival, so expect the festival to have soulfulness ambience to it, including surprise performances.
There’s going to be local food vendors with traditional Aruban and multicultural cuisines and drinks.
You’ll also get the chance to buy souvenirs made by local artists.
Island fest will be scheduled once every a month.
Aruba will meet once again in San Nicolas during island fest, will you join us?
It’s going to be the perfect event to experience the Aruban vibe and mingle with locals.
Long Table Aruba Dinner Charity
Aruba is known for one of the best destination when it comes to food.
There’s over 200 dining establishments on the island, and each one of these restaurants has an unique dish that will satisfy any foodie.
Despite having the best restaurants in the Caribbean, the food scene in Aruba will be heading out to the streets in June, as the annual long table event will take place.
The event is an unique setup as the longest table dinner event in the mainstreet.
A long table, measuring over 400 meters long will be set on L.G. Smith Boulevard, right in front of Renaissance Aruba Resort.
Over 1000 guests, dressed in all white will be seated at this table and served a 3 course dinner and wine pairing under the stars.
Long table is an charity dinner event, and all proceeds go to a local organization.
This year’s event will take place June 23, 2019.
Tickets are not available yet, but if you’re going to be on the island – mark this day as you don’t want to miss this magical dinner.
